Canoryn 0.6: the public beta
What's in the free public beta of Canoryn, the native macOS agent workbench — and what's coming in 0.7.
Canoryn 0.6 is out, and it's free to download. It's an agent workbench for the Mac: give it a job in a project, and watch every step it takes.
What's in it
- The agent. It plans, reads the code, edits, runs and tests — with the files it read, the commands it ran and their output in order. Writing files, running commands and going online wait for your consent.
- Steering. Type while it works. Your message waits in a queue, and the agent takes it at the next step — nothing half-done gets thrown away.
- A real editor. TextKit 2, 25 languages, language servers, multiple carets, folding and line comments the agent can answer.
- Review. Every changed file in one list; stage a hunk or a single line and commit with a generated message.
- Documents. Markdown that reads like a page. Comment on a passage and the agent makes the edit and replies in the thread. Export to PDF, or publish a page to canoryn.app.
- Canvas workflows. Live WebKit browsers, real terminals, AI steps and documents on one board. Save it as a
.crynfile and run it again tomorrow — from the app, the CLI or another agent over MCP. - Your models. OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, your ChatGPT plan, or local models with Ollama.
Coming in 0.7
- A Models section with 30+ provider presets, including 11 local runners.
- A rebuilt chat transcript: thinking, tool calls and results as their own cards, smooth on very long conversations.
- Session restore, sticky scroll, and keyboard shortcuts you can change.
- A compact MCP toolset for other agents, and workflows you can write in YAML.
- Notarization, so macOS stops asking you to approve the app on first launch.
